SunButter was founded by naturalist/marine biologist team, Tom Hiney and Sacha Guggenheimer, whilst living on the Ningaloo Reef. Working as whale shark guides on the ocean for 8 hours a day drove them to search for nourishing sun protection that wasn’t going to compromise their skin with harsh chemicals, or have adverse effects on marine life and the coral reef.This is where SunButter was born.   While developing SunButter,Tom and Sacha worked as naturalists, lecturers and wildlife guides on expedition ships, which gave them a unique connection to diverse wildernesses and cultures.Passion to conserve these precious places for the animals and people that call them home inspired the pair to create a for-purpose business.
